VS Composites, LLC is the brainchild of entrepreneur/mechanical engineer Michael Van Steenburg and his wife Millie Van Steenburg, who together work to push the limits of automotive technology. The company traces its beginnings back to 1990 when Michael was first contracted to help create an all composite mid-engine sportscar. From those early days until now, the company has created many ground-up vehicles, vehicle components and technologies that are changing the face of the automotive industry. VSC has recently acquired Switched Reluctance Motor Drive technology and patents from Honeywell and intends to establish a substantial presence in the electric drivetrain industry for fuel cell, battery electric and hybrid electric vehicles.

Clients have included the who's who of the transportation industry and have encompassed Ford Motor Company, General Motors Inc., Chrysler Corporation, Lotus Cars Ltd., BMW AG, Shelby American, Inc., Saleen Performance, Inc., Club Car Corporation, E-Z-Go Corporation, John Deere Corporation, General Dynamics Inc., along with individual entrepreneurs and others who had a dream and just needed someone to make it a reality.
