VS Technology, Inc. is the brainchild of entrepreneur/mechanical engineer Michael Van Steenburg and his wife Millie Van Steenburg, who together work to push the limits of automotive technology. The company traces its beginnings back to 1990 when Michael was first contracted to help create an all composite mid-engine sportscar. From those early days until now, the company has created many ground-up vehicles, vehicle components and technologies that are changing the face of the automotive industry. VST initially acquired Switched Reluctance Motor Drive technology and patents from Honeywell and has established a definitive presence in the motor drives industry for fuel cell, battery electric and hybrid electric vehicles. Newly added Nickel Zinc battery technology has added a new dimension to the company, wherein VST is using its extensive expertise in advanced materials technology to increase the energy density of Nickel Zinc batteries and explore other related battery technology.
